It's been a long time since I started hunting for a new TV, like 2 years long. I've been through so many models, features, and options that I could honestly say I know too much about TV's. Last week I broke down and placed my order.
I finally choose a Sharp Aquas 42" 1080P. I have always heard great things about the Sharp Aquas line, and after connecting the TV, I can say that there's good reason. The quality out of the box is great, requiring only a minor adjustment. The built-in speakers were nice, but I have the surround sound setup, so I didn't need them. I am in the process of ordering some HDMI cables from http://www.monoprice.com/, which is by FARRRR the cheapest place to order cables for anything!
